There was a time when I devoured both of those books and returned to them whenever I wanted more information on a particular plant. This is an Agave-like plant that, in general, has more cold tolerance than most Agaves, though there are some cold intolerant species (and a few fairly cold tolerant Agaves as well).
These are arid-loving, rosette-shaped flowering plants that consist of primarily lanceolate leaf blades with very sharp leaf tips.
